In my short tenure on this planet I’ve learned so much about what it means to be a true Christian. I seek it everyday, with the fullness of my heart. I’d like to share a couple of my favorite scriptures, what I learned from them and how I’ve determined to live my life. I created this blog because I felt I needed a place to leave my reflections about life, love, pain, and all the other things that come as we walk this planet. Maybe something here might touch you, I don’t know. What I do know is what God reveals to me has helped me walk this life, hopefully it will help you.

James 2:22

Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect.

Hebrews 11:1-3

1: Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

2: For by it the elders obtained a good testimony.

3: By faith, we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.

I’ve come to understand that it’s not always about what we do or what we say, it is the intent of the heart (faith) which sways God.

I didn’t understand this for the longest time – but after reading the rest of chapter 11 and understanding that each of these great men were grievous sinners, how could they be in the great hall of faith? When I understood that God wasn’t looking at their acts, but at their heart I finally found my freedom. The evidence was found that it’s not what I do but what God does in me. Faith is the pearl that surrounds my heart, protects my soul, and covers my mind.

  1. “The evidence was found that it’s not what I do but what God does in me”–I love this! Sanctification. The Lord changing me each day to be more Christ-like, to be more like Him. Possible only because of the evidence of the blood He shed on the cross to wash away my sins.

    The Lord bless you, brother.
